Braque du Bourbonnais Dog Breeders

M LITTER

PARENTS : Harley and Ammo
WELPED : 01/12/2009

Harley wasn't due for a couple of days and I was working at the computer. She was sleeping in her kennel with the door open and I noticed that she was acting a little strange. I got down on the floor to check on her and found that she was delivering her first pup.

Larry was still working in the second puppy room doing some weather stripping and getting it ready for her to deliver so we weren't quite ready for the event. I called him to come and hold her while I went in and put blankets, towels & sheets in the shower. We took her in there and over a period of the next 6 hours she delivered 8 pups, 6 liver and 2 fawn. Her first pup weighed 14.6 ozs and was breech so she did let out a yelp. The rest were all 11 ozs so, after that first one, those were a piece of cake.

Males

Cactus Country Mac

Mac will be going to a hardcore hunting home in the Phoenix area. The extended family all participates in hunts and they won't even tell each other where all the good hunting places are. That is just too funny.

Mac has a distinctive spot just at the beginning of his tail. Without that I don't think I could tell them apart. He definitely has a voice and will tell you when he is not happy.

Look out Phoenix. Mac is going to make his presence known!.

Cactus Country Marley

Marley will be going to the mountains of Northern Arizona to her hunting family.

He is almost a twin to Harley's other fawn male and is going to have beautiful fawn markings. He is easy going unless it's meal time or there is a bird.

He is going to be a wonderful family dog and then when dad puts on his hunting pants, everyone had better get out of the way!

Cactus Country Maximus (Duke)

Duke is going to a hunting home in California who already have a JJ puppy. You can read about Sam's exploits on the Testimonials Page.

Duke was and continues to be our biggest puppy. He is the first to the dinner table and the last to leave. He loves the birds and he's pretty much in charge of the whole place. He is really sweet too and it's evident that Ammo is his dad.

Cactus Country Maxwell

Max will be going with his cousin, Lacey, to his new home in Kansas where there are lots of great birds.

He has a very ever temperament and does he love the birds! He's among the bigger males and will be a great companion for Lacey.

He has simple yet really beautiful markings. He reminds me of our Bourbonnais, Brock!

Cactus Country Monseur Ronnie

Ronnie will be flying off to Massachusetts to join his hunting family.

I hope we will transition to really cold weather from the 80 degree weather we have been having in February. He is one of the bigger boys and his new mom has been sending him toys and blankets for his ride home.

Ronnie is very smart and is one of the first in the door whenever it opens. He is a typical Bourbonnais when it comes to wanting to be with people. He is wonderfull.

Females

Cactus Country Maggie Mae

Maggie is going to Phoenix, also to a hunting home. This awesome family is the daughter and son-in-law of Missy's family.

There will be a lot of training together and then some great bird hunts in their future. This family came to visit and it is just heartwarming to see what terrific families are attracted to these dogs. We sat in the yard for a couple of hours and just played with all the puppies. I had a fantastic time!

Everytime I open the door to the puppy room I sang Rod Stewart's Maggie May. It was awful but the puppies didn't mind!

Cactus Country Mary (Rella)

Rella is going to a home where she will have lots of grandchildren visiting. The girls all love Cinderella so they settled on Rella.

They are so excited about their new Bourbonnais and they are all going to be fast friends.

Rella is gentle and loving and loves to cuddle. I can see the girls dressing her up! She's going to have so much love. Enjoy your home in Arkansas!!

Cactus Country Mistral Jolie (Missy)

Missy is going to a wonderful hunting home in Phoenix. Her new hunting companion actually stopped by with about 8 of his hunting buddies on the way home from a hunt. I don't think I've ever seen that much camo in this house! It was great!

Missy will be perfect for this family because she is gentle, laid back and crazy about birds! They learned about this breed from a neighbor who was walking her Bourbonnais from our JJ litter.
